It is my honor to greet you on behalf of your board to the 16th annual NEALS Conference. I do so also on behalf of the founding members and past presidents of NEALS, may I ask you all to stand and be recognized for your vast contributions to the field? Joanne Hayhurst, Vaunie Graulty, Kara Ashley, Rebecca Plona, and Marcia Rummuni. Thank you for founding and supporting this terrific organization since 1999.

Please also join me in recognizing the rest of your board who have worked tirelessly this year to bring NEALS to you and you to NEALS. Please stand and accept our gratitude. Brewster colleagues: we are so grateful to you for bringing Lynn Lyons to speak to us about Managing Anxiety in Teens and Strategies for Learning.

Lynn Lyons has been a psychotherapist for over 24 years and specializes in the treatment of anxious children and their parents with a special interest in interrupting the generational pattern of worry in families. She is the co-author with Reid Wilson of Anxious Kids, Anxious Parents: 7 Ways to Stop the Worry Cycle and Raise Courageous and Independent Children and the companion book Playing with Anxiety: Casey’s Guide for Teens and Kids and her third book, Using Hypnosis with Children: Creating and Designing Effective Interventions will be released this August. In addition to her private practice in Concord NH, she presents internationally to mental health and medical providers,educators, school nurses, and parents. Lynn, welcome to NEALS.
